ANNUAL CELEBRATION OF CRAFT

The Annual Celebration of Craft promotes the appreciation of fine craftsmanship and supports the School’s mission to train students for careers in traditional trades.

As part of the Annual Celebration of Craft, our Student & Alumni Exhibit features hand-carved chairs and cabinetry, jewelry in silver and gold, leather-bound books, handmade violins, and more. Over 60 artisans hailing from regions around the globe are represented in the show. Notably, select artisan pieces from the Trustees of Reservations’ recent Conversations in Craft exhibit will be included among the masterful work.

The exhibition takes place at two exceptional venues: the luxurious ground floor of Two International Place in Boston's Financial District from May 7-23, and then at the School's intimate Windgate Gallery in Boston’s North End from June 4-30. This is first time in the 19-year history of the Celebration that the Exhibit will travel between two distinct locations, offering broader access to the community.

Student & Alumni Exhibit

The centerpiece of our Annual Celebration of Craft is our Student & Alumni Exhibit, which showcases the masterful work of our community. From May 7-23 our exhibit of student and alumni work will be on display in the lobby of International Place, and will then find a home at NBSS from June 4-30. The exciting exhibit will include heirloom-quality furniture, designer handmade jewelry, fine bookbinding, original illustrated works, and more.

Flashback: 2017 Preview Dinner & Opening Reception

Many guests enjoyed two lively and fun events at NBSS, the Preview Dinner for Sponsors and an Opening Reception. Visitors could view and purchase works from the Student & Alumni Exhibit and meet the makers and several full-time students.
