In the Making: Boston Public Quartet at First Parish Church

Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 1:00-2:00 pm EST
Free event, space is limited

Join us for a much-needed musical hour with members of the Boston Public Quartet, who will perform works for violin and viola in the First Parish Church in Dorchester, Massachusetts.

Betsy Hinkle and Jason Amos of Boston Public Quartet, an ensemble dedicated to presenting rarely heard and underrepresented composers alongside the traditional canon of classical chamber music in all of Boston's neighborhoods, will perform works by living Black composers Jessie Montgomery and Adolphus Hailstork, as well as music by Schubert and Mozart arranged for a string duo.

The Church has a special connection to NBSS, as in 2013 Preservation Carpentry students employed their traditional woodworking skills in the restoration of its historic, 17th-century steeple. Learn more about the significant, award-winning rehabilitation of the church here.
