In the Making: Crafting the FutureThursday, November 5, 2020 from 7:00-8:00 pm EDT
Free event, space is limited
Join us in a conversation with Crafting the Future, an organization that works to diversify the fields of art, craft, and design by connecting young BIPOC artists with opportunities that will help them thrive.
In practice, CTF partners with youth arts organizations across the country, in order to provide their students with scholarships to renowned craft schools and pre-college programs. In doing so, the organization 1. Creates pathways into the field for young BIPOC artists, 2. Connects them with professional opportunities, and 3. Helps them plant roots and extend their networks in the craft community.
Joining the conversation will be CTF founders Corey Pemberton and Annie Evelyn, both practicing artists-makers, Aspen Golann CF '19, a CTF crew member and NBSS graduate of our Cabinet & Furniture Making program, and other beneficiaries and partners of CTF. Along with moderator Kristen Odle and other special guests, we'll discuss the different ways in which CTF is working to increase accessibility and awareness for opportunities in craft, and learn more about what's next for the organization.

This conversation is part of In the Making, a new public programs series where we connect with a range of new voices, fields, and perspectives. Learn more about In the Making, and view a full list of participants, at the series homepage here.
