Contact & Visit

We’re located in Boston’s historic North End, a culturally rich neighborhood just steps away from downtown, Boston Harbor, and the Rose Kennedy Greenway. Transportation
Travel Alert: There are multiple current/planned closures on various lines of the MBTA due to maintenance. We recommend checking for updates before you travel on the MBTA’s website.

  • Public transit: We are conveniently located near multiple service routes and the neighborhood is very walkable. The closest MBTA stop is Haymarket on the Orange and Green Lines, and the Aquarium stop on the Blue line is slightly father away. There are also a number of options for bus service.
  • Biking: If you plan to visit by bicycle, we have a rack located across from our building where you can lock your bike. Our facility is also near several Bluebike bike share stations.
  • Driving: The School does not have a dedicated lot, and on-street parking in the North End is difficult to find. If you plan to drive, your best option is to park in the Haymarket Center parking garage (also known as the Parcel 7 Garage) and walk to the School. Note that we validate Haymarket Center Garage tickets at our front desk as follows:
    • $1 for up to 2 hours of parking
    • $3 for up to 3 hours of parking
    • Longer than 3 hours – about $10 an hour with no validation discount, capping at $33 for 5-24 hours.
    • View a map of the parking garage at 98 Haymarket Square with walking directions to 150 North Street.

Health & Safety: The School is open for in-person instruction and our Store and exhibitions are open to the public. Masks are optional while at NBSS or at School-sponsored events, unless specifically noted. For more information, visit our Health & Safety page.

Accommodations: Our list of local, short-term accommodations may be helpful if your visit includes an overnight stay. We encourage you to look for special deals online, as many downtown Boston hotels offer deals through online travel sites.

Virtual Tours: If you can’t make it to us in person, you can always take a virtual tour for an inside look at our facility:
