The Shaw Society

The Pauline Agassiz Shaw Society recognizes North Bennet Street School’s most generous supporters.

Named in honor of the school’s founder and first benefactor, the Shaw Society welcomes individuals, corporations or foundations who contribute $1,000 or more in unrestricted giving during the fiscal year.  This includes gifts to the Annual Fund as well as gifts to the Annual Evening of Traditional Craft.

Shaw Society members, through their support of the School’s core operations, cast an important vote of confidence in our programs and our mission.  This group of donors is loyal, and it is growing, and the Shaw Society formally acknowledges the importance of their support.

Shaw Society members are invited to participate in special programs and events.  For example, Shaw Society members were invited to a special celebration and tour of the Shaker Museum and Library in Mount Lebanon, New York, and, in the Fall of 2009, members were invited to a cocktail reception and preview screening of Process, the episode of the award-winning documentary Craft in America at WGBH Studios in Boston.  A list of Shaw Society members is published each year in the Annual Report.

For more information on becoming a member of the Shaw Society, call Christine Murphy at 617-227-0155 x170 (cmurphy@nbss.edu) or make a gift of $1,000 or more to the Annual Fund or to the Annual Evening of Traditional Craft using the online giving form.
