Legacy Giving

North Bennet Street School has a long and rich history that goes back to the school’s founding in 1885 – over 125 years ago. A legacy gift of any size is an investment in craftsmanship and helps ensure that North Bennet Street School's educational and public programs continue to thrive.

Bequests

Providing for North Bennet Street School in your will ensures your future support of the school’s mission, while allowing you the flexibility to amend or update your plans as your circumstances change.  It is one of the simplest ways to support North Bennet Street School’s future.

  • A bequest may be of certain assets, for a specific dollar amount or for a fraction or percentage of your estate to be given to the school in support of its various programs and endeavors.
  • A bequest may be unrestricted, in that it leaves the property to be used in whole or part for the School’s charitable purposes as the Board of Directors may determine.
  • Alternatively, a bequest may be left as an unrestricted endowment gift, meaning that the principal is to be added to and held with the school’s endowment while the income it generates may be used for the school’s charitable purposes.
  • One may also provide for a restricted endowment gift, meaning that the principal is to be held with the endowment and the income is to be used for a specific purpose, such as instruction in a particular program, scholarship assistance, and the like.  Gifts for specific purposes should be drawn as broadly as is reasonably possible.  Please consult with the school before making a restricted endowment gift to ensure that your wishes can be implemented as you desire
