  • THe Dorchester Reporter

    An article titled "Saints Preserve Us: a conservator reflects on the influence of saints in the preservation of books," written by Barbara Adams Hebard, BB '90, was published in the Italian and English versions of the Vatican newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano and in the Boston College publication C21.   • Cartouche Award winner 2013

    North Bennet Street School graduate and teacher Will Neptune, CF '81 is the latest recipient of the Cartouche Award presented by Society of American Period Furniture Makers. Will is shown holding his award. To his right is former student, John Rexroad, and on his left is Freddy Roman, his current shop partner and Bob Van Dyke, who runs the Connecticut Valley School of Woodworking, where Neptune sometimes teaches.     In the 'G' section of the July 26 Boston Globe, Shaun Bullens, CF '05 was mentioned in an article about the furniture designs of Brooke Richard and Laura Watson from Orange Street Design Studio. Bullens is building the collection designed by Richard and Watson. Read the story.

  • PC Projects in the Papers

    Updates on the two Dorchester projects that NBSS preservation carpentry students worked on this year were recently published. The Dorchester Reporter covered the restoration work on the First Parish Church (pictured here) and the Boston Herald covered the sale of the Anna Clapp Harris house. Both projects received extensive work by preservation carpentry students under the direction of instructors Steven O'Shaughnessy and Rich Friberg. A photo essay of the work done on the First Parish Church can be found on the NBSS website.
